DOGME 95
Dogme 95 was a film movement made by danish directors in 1995, made to 'purify' film making and designed to avoid things such as predictable plots and superficial action.
the rules that the films have to conform to are called the vow's of chastity:
Dogme 95 rules
1. filming has to be done on locations, only props that would be found there can be used
2. music cannot be used unless it occurs in the scene
3. must be hand held camera work
4. filming has to be done in colour no special lighting
5. optical work and filter cannot be used
6. no superficial action
7. no temporal or geographical alienation
8. no genre movies
9. aspect ratio must be 4:3 no widescreen
10. the director cannot be credited.
Some social realist films are loosely relate-able to dogme 95 rules such as filming being done on location, superficial action and hand held camera work which is something that i may keep in mind when it comes to planning my film trailer.

SOCIAL REALISM
We feel like we will be able to use to codes and conventions of classic social realism films and build them into our own narrative. We are really interested in the way mood and emotion is really portrayed throughout this genre and also the way is adresses real and current social issues.
